VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES! Carleton Place Cyclones Girl’s Hockey Association

The Carleton Place Cyclones Girl’s Hockey Association has the following volunteer positions available:

Event: Cyclones Day
When: Saturday Nov 18th
Where: Carleton Place Arena

1. Role: Caricature Artist
Qualifications: Ability to draw fun caricatures of live ‘model’ participants (all ages) who sit in front of you in less than 5 mins. Head/face only as the caricature hockey body will be on the paper.

What we supply: Volunteer caricature artists will be provided Sharpie markers and paper (with hockey player body already on it), a chair and a breakfast or lunch. Coffee is also available for free.

Hours/positions available:
8am – 10am – 2 volunteers  for caricature  10am – noon – 2 volunteers for caricature Noon – 2pm – 2 volunteers for caricature 2pm – 4pm – 2 volunteers for caricature 4pm – 6pm – 2 volunteers for caricature

We welcome volunteers to sign up for multiple time slots if they choose.

2. Role: Security and Info.

Ensure children enjoying the event are not running, playing in elevators or rest rooms or behaving in ways unsafe or against arena rules. Provide information for questioning visitors of this event.

Qualifications: Familiar with Carleton Place Rink and hockey culture. Friendly and diligent and communicative.

What we supply: Student Security Volunteers will be provided a vest or otherwise Security identification indicator and a breakfast or lunch. Coffee is also available for free.

Hours/positions available:
8am – 12pm – 1 volunteer
12pm- 3pm– 1 volunteer
4pm – 7pm– 1 volunteer

One time slot per student. Student volunteers in this role may be asked to do other odd jobs or light duty assistance.

3. Role: Assist with various roles such as selling of tickets, providing information for questioning visitors of this event. Set-up and take-down/clean-up for the event.

Qualifications: Familiar with Carleton Place Rink and hockey culture. Friendly and diligent and communicative.

What we supply: Student Assistant Volunteers will be provided instruction, breakfast or lunch. Coffee is also available for free.

Hours/positions available:
7:30am – 10:30am – 1 volunteer
10:30am – 1:30 – 1 volunteer
1:30pm – 4pm – 1 volunteer
5pm – 8pm – 1 volunteer

One time slot per student. Student volunteers in this role may be asked to do other odd jobs or light duty assistance or promotion of the event inside and out of the venue. Ex signs on street, waving to passers by to generate traffic and excitement.
