The CPHS Track and Field team had a remarkable three days at the OFSAA Championships in Guelph this past weekend!

  • “BIG Lou”, Spencer Lewis, capped off his brilliant Junior year with a gold medal in the Shot Put. His monster toss of 17.52 metres betters his School Record and cements his status as the best Junior Male Shot Putter in Ontario.
  • Spencer also picked up a ribbon as he finished 5th in the Discus!
  • Madison Armitage ran to a bronze medal in the Midget 100 metre dash with a blistering new School Record time of 12.41 seconds. She also set a new School Record in the 200m dash with a blazing time of 25.84 seconds. She finished 8th overall in the final.
  • Madison was joined by Mollie Grabe, Skyla Campbell and Lilly Jackson to finish 4th in the Junior Relay. Their time in the heats of 50.07 improves on their School Record and makes them the fastest girls team of all time in Lanark County.
  • Dale Kenny ran two brilliant races to destroy her own School Records! Dale qualified for the finals of the 1500 metres with a scorching time of 4:54.68. She finished 9th in the finals. In her 3000 metre race, Dale came from the back of the pack to finish 5th and crush her own School Record with a first-class time of 10:34.49.
  • Lilly Jackson just missed going to the finals in the Long Jump and finished 9th. She was 12th in the Hurdles.
  • Maverick Pretty vaulted to a 12th place finish in the Junior Pole Vault.
  • Maggie Ford finished off her high school career by qualifying for the Senior Javelin.
  • Kyle Dolliver ran a solid race to finish 14th overall in the Junior 100 metre Hurdles.
  • Gavin Wheeler struggled to find his usual groove and finished 12th in Midget Javelin and 16th in the Discus.

This year we had 12 new School Records, 5 Lanark County Records, 1 EOSSAA Record and 1 East Regional Record!

The CPHS High School team would like to wish the Intermediate team the very best of success this week as they head to their Regional Meet in Brockville!
