CPHS Girls’ Rugby Team Travelled to SFDCI

The CPHS Girls’ Rugby team travelled to SFDCI for a tournament on Monday, May 13th. Despite the rain and colder temperatures, the girls progressed to a whole new level producing strong kicks and passing. The girls lost respectfully to SFDCI 20-14, with tries (5 points each) scored by Meghan Peterkins and Delaina Anderson. Two conversion kicks (2 points each) were scored by Rylie Dods and Delaina Anderson. Despite the first loss, the girls came out strong and defeated St. Thomas Aquinas (Russell) 17-5. with tries scored by Delaina Anderson, Pooja Narula and Karlee Luciano. One conversion kick was made by Delaina Anderson. The girls played Bayside Secondary School’s junior team (Belleville), who is a stronger, experienced team and lost by one try (5-0). The coaching staff (Mrs. Kirk, Mrs. Newton, Mr. Falcioni, Victoria Ferguson and Duncan MacNaughton) are very proud of how far the team has come this season and look forward to May 23rd (Russell) and May 27th (CPHS).
