CPHS had a visit from CBC Radio host, Hallie Cotnam, to interview Devon Larratt, World Champion Arm Wrestler. She also wanted to check out our prestigious CrossFit program.

Devon, a 20 year veteran of the Canadian Special Forces, is a celebrity in the strength world owing to his World Titles in Arm wrestling for both the Right and Left hands. He held this title simultaneously – a feat no one has ever achieved.

Devon worked with one of our parents, Joe McInnes, whose children, Cole and Marla are members of the CrossFit course. Joe believed that Devon’s message of commitment to be the best one can be was of interest to our students.

Devon spoke of training methods, focus on task, desire to change and doing these things with humility. He spoke of training in 45 degree Afghanistan heat while conducting covert military operations. Since he was 12 (he is now 41), he has missed less than 10 days of training!

He taught the students how to arm wrestle, and then demonstrated the various strength and skill sessions needed to improve.

The kids had a chance to arm wrestle Devon and each other on the real competition tables.

Devon was very impressed with our exceptional facility and equipment, and he praised our program and what it represents to our community!
