Garnet Band Achieves “Outstanding Performance” at Festival

Congratulations to Ms. Price and the Garnet band who achieved a rating of ‘outstanding performance’ in their first appearance at the Capital City Music Festival.  The band is made up entirely of intermediate students, almost exclusively in their first two years of playing their instruments.

Gold Band to Withdraw from Festival Today

Due to the snow day, and the large number of musicians with conflicts for the re-scheduled time (5:00pm today), the Gold Band will withdraw from the festival. Students can look forward to additional performance opportunities shortly, including with Blues in the School next week.

Students from CPHS, working with the Carleton Place Refugee Committee, spent time on the weekend helping to prepare an apartment for a Syrian refugee family.  Students worked hard, filling, sanding and painting the walls of the apartment.
