CPHS Student Wins First Prize and $500 in UCDSB Contest

Grade 10 student, Liam Ryan, has won first prize in a design contest put on by the UCDSB to help promote the Specialist High Skills Major programs.  Liam’s winning desgin will appear on all major promotional materials produced to promote the programs.  He has also received a cheque for $500. Congratulations!

Grade 8 Students Make Their Own Soap in the Chemistry Lab

Mr. Hickey’s grade 8 class collaborated with Mr. Russell to make soap during their intermediate science period.  Using simple products and chemicals such as crayons, olive oil, water and Sodium Hydroxide, students were able to produce soaps of different colours, sizes and scents.  Students were able to practice safe laboratory protocol and procedures in preparation for grade 9.  This was a great activity that […]
